This plant primarily serves Southern Oklahoma. Oklahoma has two Hiland Dairy processing plants, one in Chandler and another in Norman. This page is dedicated to Hiland Dairy in Norman, Oklahoma.
Hiland Dairy in Norman, Oklahoma is well-known for the excellent quality products that we produce — specifically, our sour cream and dips. We believe that our facility makes a superior product. That is why it is on grocery store shelves in Miami, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; San Antonio, Texas; and Jessup, Maryland.
Norman produces approximately 1.5-1.6 million gallons of milk and 800,000-900,000 pounds of sour cream, crema, and dips monthly.
The facility is in the middle of downtown Norman, Oklahoma, one block away from its historic Main Street, and is known for its art deco design. The plant was built in 1934 and operated for many years as Gilt Edge Dairy until Hiland Dairy purchased it in 1995.

Hiland Norman has been a cohort member of the Oklahoma Gas and Electrics (OG&E) Continuous Energy Improvement (CEI) program since 2018. The program requires participants to make substantial efforts in energy conservation through advances in process, equipment, and facility behavioral operations. As a result, Hiland Dairy Norman was awarded 3rd place in the ProFood World Sustainability Excellence in Manufacturing in 2019. In addition, continuous efforts are made to reduce our carbon footprint through an active recycling program for water conservation measured through OG&E’s CEI Program. Read more here.
We take pride in following Hiland Dairy’s mission statement, “Being better than we have to be, always doing what is right while providing a reasonable return to our owners.”
