This plant primarily serves the Kansas City metro area into East Kansas. Missouri has two Hiland Dairy processing plants, one in Kansas City and the general offices in Springfield. This page is dedicated to Hiland Dairy in Kansas City, Missouri.
Hiland Dairy Kansas City is located on Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and began in 1959 as Sealtest Dairy, producing fluid milk products and ice cream. During the next 60-plus years, the local dairies consolidated, and the market changed. The plant underwent various ownership and name changes like Fairmont, Fairmont-Zarda, and Roberts. And in 1991, it changed to a fluid-only production facility.
Hiland acquired the plant in 2013 and implemented numerous expansions and upgrades. Today, the plant produces approximately 2.7 million gallons of milk each month. We also make and bottle orange juice.
