Ingredients

For crust

  • ¾ cup cold Hiland Butter, diced into pieces
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cups semisweet chocolate chips

For topping

  • 2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
  • ½ cup Hiland Butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

For crust

  • Place butter, flour, light brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a food processor. Pulse until mixture is well combined. Press mixture evenly into bottom of a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  • Bake until firm and lightly brown, about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top. Set pan aside.

For topping

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the dark brown sugar, honey, cream, and salt. Simmer for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Stir in the pecans. Pour the pecan mixture over the chocolate-sprinkled crust, spreading evenly.
  • Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, allow to cool completely.
  • Slice.
