I love to jog. My husband takes long walks. My kids enjoy riding their bikes. It’s important to stay active and eat right, so my family and I are going to participate in Family Health and Fitness Day this Saturday. You should, too!

Here are some ideas for how you can get your family involved:
- Set up a volleyball net or soccer goal in your backyard for a pickup game with the whole family.
- Check out your local fitness clubs, schools, park districts, hospitals and other community locations for family-related heath and fitness events.
- Sign up for a 5K run/walk that the whole family can enjoy.
- Create your own mini obstacle course or Olympic-type games and see who captures the gold, silver and bronze medals.
