I have a secret to share: Add Hiland Dairy Cottage Cheese and Hiland Dairy Sour Cream to your macaroni and cheese recipe (or you can try my recipe below), and you’ll have an extra creamy dish of total goodness! Protein-packed cottage cheese and tangy sour cream aren’t typically your go-to ingredients in mac & cheese, but do yourself a favor and give them a try. You’ll thank me later!
Combine first six ingredients in a large bowl.
Stir in cooked macaroni. Lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish with butter.
Spoon mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle with paprika.
Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes. Serve warm.
Want your dish to be a bit more moist? Add 1/2 cup of Hiland Dairy Milk. Kids want more cheese? Add an additional cup of Hiland Dairy Shredded Cheddar Cheese.
