Afternoon snacks help kids battle the after-school grouch by supplying them with enough energy to carry them through until dinner. Here are a few between-meal munchies your kids can whip up on their own.
Cut apple into quarters. Remove core and cut each quarter into four slices. Spread 1/2 teaspoon peanut butter on one side of each slice. Cut each marshmallow in half lengthwise. Place 4 marshmallow halves over peanut butter on 8 apple slices. Be sure to extend them over the peel. Top each with remaining apple slice, peanut butter side down. Smile!
Butter one side of the tortilla. Place buttered side down in a medium skillet over medium heat. Spread cheese over one half of the tortilla and fold it in half. Cook one side for 1 minute until golden brown and cheese is melted. Flip over and cook the other side. Top with sour cream and salsa.
Encourage your kiddos to have a glass of Hiland Dairy Milk with their afternoon snack. The milk will give them the protein they need to re-energize their bodies after a long day at school. Need other quick snack attack ideas? Keep veggies and Hiland Dairy Dip in the fridge for a quick and delicious snack.
