Red Velvet Crinkle Cookie

Directions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In a mixer, whip butter and sugar until fluffy.

Mix in eggs, 1 at a time.

Mix in buttermilk, vanilla, lemon juice and red food coloring.

Add dry ingredient mixture to mixer.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Chill for 2 hours, until firm.

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Roll cookie dough into balls and coat them with powdered sugar.

Bake in oven for 14 minutes.


  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup Hiland Dairy Unsalted Butter
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Hiland Dairy Buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons red food coloring
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
